Description*:	Legislative Decree 30 June 2003, No. 196 - Code concerning the protection of personal data The Legislative Decree 30 June 2003, No. 196, has the purpose of guaranteeing that personal data are handled while respecting the rights, the fundamental liberties and the dignity of the people concerned, with special reference to privacy and personal identity. The law prescribes that the involved person shall be informed as to the purpose and manner his/her personal data are handled and that the involved person's authorisation must be obtained prior to handling the relevant data. The handling of data is necessary to abide to legal and contractual obligations and to correctly exercise the person's rights. The data collected at the time of registration (the following is an incomplete list: surname, first name, e-mail address) are used with and without the aid of electronic means, in order to be handled in compliance with Legislative Decree No. 196/2003, for the following purposes: - to provide the services which are the object of the registration; - to carry out statistical and market-oriented studies and research; - to send advertising and information material; - to mail commercial information; - to enable interactive commercial communication; - to establish the connection registry. The Provincial Council of Viterbo with registered office in Via Saffi, 49 - 01100 Viterbo is the holder and is in charge of the handling of personal data. RIGHT OF ACCESS TO PERSONAL DATA AND OTHER RIGHTS (Art 7 Leg.Decree 196/2003) 1. The person concerned has the right to being told whether personal data regarding himself/herself exist, even if not yet registered, and such data shall be communicated to him/her in intelligible form. 2. The person concerned has the right to be informed about: a) the source of his/her personal data; b) the purpose and manner of data processing; c) the logic applied to the processing if the latter is carried out with the help of electronic means; d) the identification data concerning data holder, data processors and the representative designated in compliance with Art. 5 comma 2; e) the entities or categories thereof to whom the personal data may be communicated or who may learn about said data in their capacity as the designated representative(s) in the territory of the State, or people in charge or appointees. 3. The person concerned has the right to obtain: a) that the data be updated, corrected or, if this is in his/her interest, integrated. b) that the data processed in breach of the law be deleted, transformed into anonymous data or blocked, including data whose retention is unnecessary in connection with the purposes for which said data were collected or subsequently processed; c) a certificate to the effect that the actions described under a) and b), as well as their contents, were notified to those whose data had been communicated or disseminated, unless such provision proves impossible or calls for the use of means clearly disproportionate in connection to the right protected. 4. The person concerned has the right to oppose, wholly or partially, that his/her personal data be processed. a) on legitimate grounds even though the data are relevant to the purpose of collection; b) with a view to sending advertising material or to selling goods or to carrying out market research or dispatch of commercial information. Users intending to inquire about their personal data or to ask for the updating or deletion of data, should apply directly to the Provincial Council of Viterbo, at the address: Provincia di Viterbo - Via Saffi, 49 - 01100 Viterbo (fax number: +39.0761.303266), by any means allowing to prove that the application described above was sent and received. The application should contain the following information: - Re: protection of personal data - First name, surname and photocopy of applicant's identity card - Application - Applicant's address, (where communications, if any, can be mailed) - Applicant's signature
